CNC Plasma/Burn Table Operator

This position will be setting up, adjusting, and operating the CNC table to cut raw materials as assigned. 

Essential Job Functions

• Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, cutting lists, etc.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates Plasma, hand torch, and cut-a-line Oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting equipment.
• Grinds and/or de-burs as required.
• Obtains from stock, oxygen and acetylene cylinders as required.
• Selects raw materials to be cut.
• Uses drawings to determine how cuts should be made.
• Positions materials by using an overhead crane.
• May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.
• Scribes from patterns and performs simple layout.
• Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
• Observes all Safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly.
• May be required to also operate the metal band saw to cut steel for parts.

Experience/Certification

• Mechanically inclined and very reliable.
• Read, understand, and comprehend basic blueprints and drawings.
• Must be able to use basic measuring devices, including a tape measure.
• At least 1-2 years of experience operating a CNC Plasma / Burn table – Preferred.
• Experience with Structural Cutting, using a band saw – Preferred. 
• Experience running a Punch Press, Press Brake, and Shearer – Preferred. 
• 2D AutoCAD experience – Preferred. 
• Willingness and ability to work any shift and overtime when required. 
• Legally authorized to work in the United States. 
• Must pass pre‐employment physical, safety training, background and drug and alcohol screen. Please be aware that Glenn has a comprehensive drug policy, which includes random testing. 
• Ability to work outside in harsh weather conditions. 
• Must have dependable transportation.
